City of New Orleans
Program Manager - Internet Access & Digital Equity
New Orleans
Since 2012, I have been the Program Manager for Internet Access and Digital Equity at the City of New Orleans where I lead efforts to advance digital inclusion among New Orleans’ marginalized residents by collaborating with City colleagues and partners in private, non-profit, and philanthropic organizations. My projects include:
• Citywide implementation of free basic digital skills courses
• Events to connect residents with reduced price computers or to fix residents' non-working computers
• Implementing a citywide, institutional fiber network
As part of this work, I handle research, data collection and analysis, policy analysis, report writing, project management, stakeholder coordination, securing pro bono partners, curriculum development for the digital skills course, recruitment and management of digital skills instructors, and strategy related to creation and implementation of the digital inclusion agenda.
Before coming to New Orleans, as a Transportation/Urban Planner in the public and private sectors, I conducted traffic, transit, pedestrian, and planning analyses for new development, re-development, and transportation infrastructure projects in the New York City Metro area, Virginia, and Florida.
In my free time, I love to explore cities in the US and overseas.
